The Wai Sing Kwoon School is devoted to teaching and maintaining the authentic, genuine, veracious and truthful art of Fu-Jow Pai (Tiger Claw Kung-Fu). Originated in the "Shaolin Temple", the Tiger Claw System derives it movements from that of an attacking tiger utilizing a balance of feet and hand techniques. These movements were developed to simulate the natural defenses of the student. The training regimen includes a systematic learning and practicing of exercise and forms which are used in various defense and offense attacks. Training also includes exercises to develop coordination and endurance, as well as the building of confidence. Not only do these exercises develop the body physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Each class starts with the basic exercises with strong emphasis on the foundation. Also, the looseness of the major body joints is crucial to obtaining proficiency in the art of Fu-Jow Pai. Once this is accomplished the student is introduced to form. Forms are prearranged fighting movements which show the techniques and characteristics of a martial art. Form instruction is given by the Chief Instructor. Intermediate and advanced students can look forward to more rewarding and advanced Kung-Fu training. Wai Sing Kwoon puts much emphasis on the development of the Iron Hand and Tiger Claw. Both are considered treasures of the Oriental martial arts. Sparring and traditional weaponry are incorporated into intermediate and advanced level classes. We also specialize in giving each student individual attention. We keep a friendly but serious atmosphere at our place. Come and see. Visitors are more than welcome. |
